Since 1993, ICNP has established itself as one of the premier conferences
in the computer networking field. ICNP deals with all aspects of communication
protocols, from design and specification, to verification, testing, performance
analysis, and implementation. Protocol functions of interest include network
access, switching, routing, flow and congestion control, multimedia transport,
wireless and mobile networks, network security, web protocols and applications,
electronic commerce, network management, interoperability, internetworking,
home computing and networks and digital broadcasting.
ICNP is guided by a steering committee.

Announcing the ICNP Outstanding Technical Achievement Award
The IEEE International Conference on Network Protocols (ICNP) is
initiating an annual award, the ICNP Outstanding Technical Achievement
Award, to recognize and honor individuals who have made particularly
significant fundamental contributions to the design and analysis of
network protocols over the past ten years.
The ICNP Steering Committee has selected an ICNP Award Committee that is
charged with selecting an awardee from among those nominated. The
nomination form
is available on the ICNP website
http://www.ieee-icnp.org/.
The completed form and all endorsement letters must be received by the
award committee chair by the deadline indicated on the nomination form.
It is intended that the award will be given each year, assuming that the
award committee selects a deserving awardee from the nominations received
during the year.
The awardee will be expected to attend the ICNP Conference to receive the
award and give an invited talk at the conference. Reasonable travel
expenses will be covered for the awardee.
The first award is expected to be given at ICNP 2006 to be held in Santa
Barbara, California in November 2006.
The ICNP Award Committee members for the initial award are: Kevin
Almeroth, Mostafa Ammar, Azer Bestavros, Mohamed Gouda, David Lee and Ray
Miller (Chair). The award committee membership will change each year and
the current awardee will be invited to be a member of the committee for
the following year.
